Invention Assessment & Evaluation

Invention Assessment is the most important step in the patenting and commercialisation process. It is critical before embarking on your project to determine if your idea or invention is in fact new and if it is worthwhile to proceed with investing in patent protection, product development and manufacturing.

Get your Invention or Idea Evaluated

At IP& we have assisted hundreds of inventors and companies to evaluate and protect their intellectual property. Our invention assessment process includes consideration of patentability, technical feasibility and marketability.

Our invention assessment process is unique to IP& and ensures well informed decisions are made at the outset. We assess all inventions against three general criteria: (1) Patentability; (2) Technical Feasibility; and (3) Marketability. We present an overview of our findings in an “Invention Assessment Report” which is discussed with a Patent Attorney.

Criteria 1 - Patentability

Can you patent your invention? Should you patent? Will you conflict with another patent? What other kinds of IP Protection are available? Are there better ways to protection your invention?

Criteria 2 - Technical Feasibility

Will it work? Can it be improved? What other technologies are available? How can it be made and how much will it cost to produce?

Criteria 3 - Marketability

How big is the market? How will my product compete? Will I be able to sell my product? What are the options to commercialise?Who might be interested? How will my inventions patentability and technical feasibly effect how the invention is taken to market?

Testimonials

As an individual inventor, I set out to find a Patent Attorney service that was accessible and reasonably priced to assist in lodging my first patent application. I found IP& (formerly Caska IP) to be not only affordable and accessible, but highly professional and attentive to my needs and requirements. IP& worked with me to assist in refining my idea and expressing its unique qualities. I highly recommend IP& to the individual inventor.
